1/2 lb. ground beef
1/2 lb. ground pork or Italian sausage
1 small chopped onion or 2 cloves garlic
2 tbsp. olive oil
1 16oz. can Italian style plum tomatoes
1/2 can Italian style tomato paste dissolved in 1 cup water
1 tsp. chopped basil leaf
Salt and pepper to taste

Allow onion and meat to brown in olive oil in saucepan. Add tomatoes and dissolved tomato paste. Flavor with remaining ingredients. Simmer sauce for 1-1/2 hours. Stir occasionally.
